Chance is a rapper who gives his music away for free, and makes a ton of money because of it. Talk about a paradox. I also think there is no better way to describe a life as "perfect" than to talk about hanging out with Justin Timberlake at Peyton Manning's retirement party...
What I'm beginning to realize is that we have a basic understanding of the inputs that go into machine learning and the outputs that come out of it. But we don't really have an exact understanding for what goes on inside this black box process.
Knowing if something is working or not is fairly straightforward. Understanding the causes for why something is working or not is a whole other ball game. There is a lot of noise in data today, but building a living-breathing attribution model is a must if you want to double down and scale paid spend.
