Amazon, the tax of the internet, is going to have a piece of your business one way or the other. Either you will build your entire business on it (AWS), have them handle logistics (Fulfilled by Amazon, Prime) or they will flat out try and use data to make an Amazon private label out of you.

When it comes to publishing and the internet there are really only two types of business models that work: achieve massive scale and use advertising (Facebook/Google) or make can't-miss content for a small subset of people who are more than willing to pay via subscription. The media is struggling to grasp this concept and often find themselves caught in the middle, hoping some new tactic can save them.
Video will not save your media business. Nor will bots, newsletters, or Slack integration.
